BEGINNER COURSES
Sew Creative courses focus on interactive learning through a relaxed and fun environment. Our class sizes are limited to ensure a hands on learning experience where individual attention is given. Classes can be arranged for private group bookings/workshops, e.g. birthday parties, team building, kitchen tea’s (lingerie course perhaps?). Enquire about group bookings here.
The focus is on fun and interactive learning, as well as meeting new people. A refreshment break to recharge during each session is included.
Please make sure your machine is oiled and in good working condition prior to starting any course. It’s a good idea to have it serviced if it hasn’t been used in a while. If you do not have access to a sewing machine, and wish to rent one of ours, you may book one on your enrolment form. There is no charge for this for beginners courses.

This beginner course is the perfect starter for those new to sewing and if you are looking to give your sewing confidence a boost.
Course fee includes fabric & patterns, guided instruction, printed notes, refreshments (tea, coffee)
All lessons include use of sewing tools in the training centre.
All fees are payable in advance via eft on confirmation of your booking.
If you have your own sewing machine, you are encouraged to bring it to all lessons, so we can assist you in setting it up. We suggest you do not rush out and buy a sewing machine as we will discuss these during the first few lessons so you can make an informed choice.

OVERLOCKER INTRODUCTION | Beginner
COURSE FEE: R860
DURATION: 3 lessons OR book for Intro Lesson One only – R 390
IMPORTANT NOTE: While this is an introduction to your overlocker, this is NOT a beginner sewing course – you do need some basic sewing skills.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:
Intro lesson one – All those threads explained / Adjusting settings / Different uses / Make samples of your basic stitches
Sweatshirt (lessons 2 & 3) – This may not be booked on it’s own – this forms part of the full Overlocker Intro Course – Correct settings & tensions / Pattern layout & cutting / Work with stretch fabric and ribtrim / Make a sweatshirt using only your overlocker
Course Fee includes all fabric, patterns, sample fabrics, thread, printed notes & guided instruction.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This is NOT a beginner sewing course – you must have some sewing experience.
You do need to bring your own overlocker.

KATS CLUB – Kids & Teens Sewing Club | Beginner & Beyond
COST: R 1 200 per term (8 lessons)
FREQUENCY: one lesson per week
DURATION: 1 ½ hours per lesson
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN: This sewing programme has been designed especially for young people from aged 10 upwards. Please enquire for younger children. The focus is on fun and interactive learning. The first 4 introductory lessons are structured, to ensure the basics are covered. No need to rush and purchase sewing machines and tools etc – this is all included in your first four weeks. Fabric, thread, buttons etc are also included. Thereafter, each student is encouraged to tailor their own programme by choosing projects from a list of options. Each project will detail all fabric, haberdashery needed – this will be an additional cost for the student. All projects are kept simple and cost-effective, while introducing new skills. Each student works at his/her own pace. Sewing machine rental at R50 per lesson is optional after the first four lessons should your child not have one available. We will guide you when you are ready to purchase a sewing machine, to ensure you make an informed choice. KATS Club is fun and creative – helping build confidence in young people.
